CinemaTrove

Privacy

What the current service handles.

This page distinguishes between public member content, account data handled through Clerk, and technical information used to run CinemaTrove.

Account information

Authentication is provided by Clerk. Clerk manages sign-in credentials, connected accounts, sessions, and account security. CinemaTrove receives the account identifier and basic account information needed to recognize the signed-in member, show account settings, support member search, and administer the service.

Profile and movie activity

CinemaTrove stores profile details you provide, such as a display name, optional location, website, biography, profile image reference, and streaming region.

It also stores the movies you save, watch dates, rewatches, ratings, reviews, genre overrides, favorites, lists, comments, likes, follows, friendships, notifications, and streaming-availability reports needed to provide the product.

What can be public

A completed CinemaTrove member profile has a shareable URL. It can show the member’s display name, profile image, optional location, website, biography, member-since date, movie statistics, selected movie activity, ratings, reviews, favorites, watchlist entries, and social counts.

Account email addresses are not displayed on profile pages. A member can, however, be found through the signed-in member search when another user searches the account email. Content added to a list the member explicitly marks public is visible to anyone with its link.

CinemaTrove currently instructs search engines not to index member profile and public-list pages. Explicit search-visibility controls will be required before those pages are added to search sitemaps.

Analytics and technical information

CinemaTrove loads analytics from analytics.servicealert.ai on non-admin pages to understand site traffic and feature usage. Analytics requests may process standard web-request information such as the page URL, referrer, browser or user-agent details, and network connection information. Admin routes are excluded from the CinemaTrove analytics script.

Outside services

  • Clerk provides account authentication and security tools.
  • TMDB supplies movie data and images used in search and movie displays.
  • Streaming providers receive a normal web request when you follow an outbound provider link.
  • CIA Development analytics receives analytics requests from non-admin pages as described above.

Streaming link records

For a click on a verified streaming offer, the current CinemaTrove click record stores the offer identifier, country, and time. It does not include a CinemaTrove member identifier. A provider-search link may carry the movie title, release year, country, and any configured affiliate parameters to the provider.

Your choices

You can edit your CinemaTrove profile, manage authentication through Clerk, remove movie records, and export movie data in CSV or JSON from Settings. For an access, correction, or deletion request that the available controls do not cover, use the contact page.

Retention and updates

CinemaTrove does not currently publish a fixed retention schedule for every category of information. This page will be updated when data handling or the services used by CinemaTrove materially change.
