Popular is based on movies watched by CinemaTrove members during the most recent 30 calendar days. It is not copied from TMDB, a streaming service, a box-office chart, or another movie community.
How watches are counted
The ranking counts distinct members who recorded at least one viewing of a movie in that period. If one member watches the same movie several times, that person still contributes one member to the popularity count for the period.
Multiple viewing dates remain part of that member’s personal watch history and play count; they simply do not let one person dominate the community ranking.
How the list is ordered
Movies with more distinct recent viewers come first. When counts are equal, more recent viewing activity is considered before title order. The result changes naturally as new watches are recorded and older watches move outside the 30-day window.
What the ranking does not mean
Popular does not mean best, and an early CinemaTrove ranking may reflect a small community. The watch count should be read as activity on CinemaTrove, not as a claim about every movie viewer or the wider market.
