CinemaTrove

Community guidelines

Make room for honest movie opinions.

CinemaTrove works best when members can disagree freely without making the site hostile, deceptive, or unsafe.

Last updated August 23, 2026

Post your real opinion

Rate and review movies based on your own experience. Do not post fabricated activity, coordinate ratings to manipulate a score, accept payment for undisclosed praise, or impersonate someone else.

Disagree with the take, not the person

Strong opinions about movies are welcome. Harassment, threats, hate, discriminatory abuse, sexual harassment, doxxing, or encouragement of harm are not. Do not organize pile-ons or follow another member across the site to antagonize them.

Give spoilers a fair warning

Use the spoiler setting when a review reveals major plot developments, endings, surprise appearances, or other information a reasonable viewer may want to discover themselves. Do not put an unmarked spoiler in a display name, list title, or comment where it cannot be avoided.

Keep contributions useful

Avoid repetitive promotion, scams, malicious links, automated posting, unrelated advertising, and comments that add nothing except disruption. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share or expose another person’s private information.

Moderation

Content that conflicts with these guidelines may be removed. Repeated or serious violations may affect access to CinemaTrove. Context matters, and a disagreement or negative movie review is not, by itself, a violation.

Report a concern

Use the contact page and include the relevant profile, review, comment, or activity URL. Do not repeat abusive content more than necessary to identify the problem.
